STIRCHLEY FOOD AND FILM FEST | Palestinian short films with Maqloubeh | co-presented by Falestine on film
November 21 @ 6:30 pm - 10:30 pm
Presented in partnership with Falasteen on Film who specialise in showing Palestinian films highlighting the conflict in Gaza.
Maqloubeh, one of three short films on the night, follows the story of four roommates making maqloubeh, the classic Palestinian rice, meat and vegetable dish, and debating what the dish is or isn’t. Is lamb the traditional hero item or chicken? It’s a cosy, homely movie that takes a dramatic turn.
They will be serving both meat and veg maqloubeh on the day, with the ceremonial flipping of the upside down dish and grand reveal being a predicted highlight (choose your meat or vegetarian option when booking your tickets).
They are also fundraising for registered charity Rivers of Mercy – please find out how you can support when booking your ticket.
