TV & Film Fusion

  • Have you always wanted to earn your living making TV shows and Films but not known how to get started and have no experience?
  • Are you a new entrant in Film or TV looking to bridge the gap between scripted and unscripted and build a portfolio career
  • Aged 19 or over?
  • Resident in the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA)* region?

If you answered yes to these questions, then this FREE training course is for you.

*This includes residents of Birmingham City Council, Coventry City Council, Dudley Metro Borough Council, Sandwell Metro Borough Council, Solihull Metro Borough Council, Walsall Council and City of Wolverhampton.

THE COURSE WILL COVER:

What are the roles and opportunities for me in TV and Film ?

  • Learn about all types and genres of TV and Film productions. Such as Peaky Blinders, Father Brown, Phoenix Rise, MasterChef, The Gadget Show, Late Night Lycett and Travel Man.
  • Understand the workflow of different genres, from single-camera setups to studio productions and big budget dramas.
  • Discover how many people and different skills it takes to make your favourite shows.
  • Gain practical technical skills for new entrant positions in the TV and Film industry.
  • Build an industry focussed CV.
  • Develop a bespoke and actionable career pathway in both TV and Film sectors locally.
  • Be trained by local industry professionals who are looking for new-entrants on their up coming productions.

By the end of this course , you’ll have the confidence and know-how to pursue new entrant roles in scripted and unscripted, build a fulfilling career in the fast-paced world of  TV and Film and have had the opportunity to be trained by local industry professionals.

KEY DATES:

  • Applications close 16th October 23:59
  • Interviews 21, 22, 23 October, 2024
  • All sessions take place every Saturday and Sunday from 9:00-16:30
  • Start Saturday 23rd November
  • End Sunday 9th February, 2025

All training will take place at BOA Stage and Screen Academy, 48 Stour St Birmingham B18 7AJ

HOW TO APPLY:

Complete the application form on the Mission Accomplished website here, by 23:59 on 16th October 2024.

Once you submit your application they will give you a call to answer any further questions you might have about the next steps and to confirm your eligibility and availability.

Following this, all applications will be reviewed and shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an interview either in-person or online. Interviews Dates: 21, 22, 23 October (they will offer some online and some in person).
