Momentum by We Are Parable

Founded in 2020, the award winning film exhibition platform We Are Parable’s mentoring programme Momentum was created to help UK based Black content creators navigate their way through the Film & TV industry. They provide mentoring support, mental health and pitching sessions, as well as masterclasses and opportunities to screen their work. Thanks to previous partners Film & TV Charity, Channel 4 and 4Skills, Momentum has been able to support 80 Black creatives working in both film and television, across six cities: London, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Glasgow and Leeds.

Previous participants have included Adura Onashile, whose feature debut “Girl” will be released later this year and Idurobo Gift Imafidon, who produced the award winning “All the Colours of the World are between Black and White”, which premiered at the Berlin Film Festival in February. This year’s programme will commence in October and will welcome another 60 filmmakers and content creators.

As part of the Momentum project, a series of training sessions are likely to take place in person in London, Leeds and Bristol. All training sessions will be hybrid. If you are unable to attend in person, you will be able to join online.
