DESCRIPTION:That’s right folks – double the weekends\, double the fun. Our 2024 festival will run for ten days\, showcasing brilliant films of all shapes and sizes alongside unique and unexpected performances for all the senses. \nFlatpack is a mobile arts organisation which exists to show amazing work\, bring people together and develop new ideas. We love film in all shapes and sizes\, particularly where it bumps up against other artforms\, and get a kick out of transforming spaces to create unforgettable events. Every May you can find us taking over venues across Birmingham with the “magnificently eclectic” Flatpack Festival\, while throughout the year we pop up all over the place with everything from family activities to al fresco horror.

SUMMARY:NEXUS: East vs West Midlands Showcase 2024
DESCRIPTION:– The Deets – \nWe are delighted to be hosting our second East vs West Midlands Showcase in May 2024 where we will be screening a fantastic selection of short films\, half of which will represent the East Midlands with the other half representing the West. \nThis will be a friendly\, supportive (and perhaps a little competitive) event bringing both of the UK’s Midlands regions together. \nThe event will take place at Derby QUAD 1:30pm – 6pm on 4 May 2024\, and will include our film screening and awards presentation followed by some networking time and our well-known Pitch Up opportunity\, giving anyone at the event the chance to pitch themselves\, a project or whatever they fancy to the collective talent & knowledge at the event. \n– Line Up –\n‘A Different Place’ \nby Sophie Black\, Tommy Draper\, Z. So\, the award for ‘Best West’ will be picked by our East Midlands audience and our ‘Best East’ film will be picked by West Midlanders. \nFinally\, our ‘Best Midlands’ film overall will be decided by a Jury of industry professionals who will confer after the screening to name the best overall midlands production from this year’s showcase. \nEach of the winning films will receive an award\, presented by Nexus to the winning teams as recognition of their hard-work and skill. \nKeep your eyes peeled for jury announcements coming soon! \n– Pricing –\nNexus Cast & Crew Network CIC is a not-for-profit organisation relying heavily on donations\, however it is important to us that our events are accessible to all. SUMMARY:The Black Country Horror Shorts Film Festival 2023
DESCRIPTION:The Black Country Horror Shorts Film Festival is a festival for short HORROR films of around 10 minutes. \n\n\n\nNow in it’s fourth year\, we are proud to present our festival of short horror films. \nOur panel of Judges\, will choose the best 15 films\, which will be screened on the night. All those films will receive an OFFICIAL SELECTION Laurel and a certificate. The best four films will receive a RUNNER UP Laurel and one film will receive a glass trophy and a WINNER laurel \nThe event date is November 11th doors open at 6.30pm and will be held at The Ruskin Glass Centre in Stourbridge.

DESCRIPTION:Welcome to year 3 of Worcester Film Festival\, where we’ll be returning to our prestigious venue at The Royal Porcelain Works. We have some big plans for this year\, so watch this space (and our website and social media) for news. For now\, we can promise more of what has made this event such a success the past couple of years – a launch event\, film screenings\, Q&As\, networking evenings\, talks and awards gala. \nOver the past couple of years we’ve had the pleasure of screening a UK premiere of a film that opened at TIFF\, an awards gala hosted by acclaimed actor Mat Horne\, networking events sponsored by the Royal Television Society and Birmingham Film Market\, a talk by composer Murray Gold\, funding and pitching sessions by Greenlit\, Q&As with some of our officially selected and shown over 150 of your films from 36 countries… and we’re just getting started. \nThis is an event for filmmakers and film lovers alike! So\, whether you’ve joined us previously or are new to our festival\, we look forward to meeting you. \nVenues include Royal Porcelain Works\, Spin The Black Circle\, The Sociable Beer Company\, The Swan Theatre\, and Tonic. \nSee you there!

DESCRIPTION:The Midlands Movies Awards 2023 will take place on Saturday 10th June 2023 at The Y Theatre\, 7 East St\, Leicester LE1 6EY. The night opens its doors at 7pm with the ceremony kicking off at 8pm and a finishing time by 11pm (approx.) \nFollowing the red carpet\, photos and awards\, attendees are invited to join together afterwards at Firebug Bar in Leicester city centre (10-minute walk from venue\, open til 4am) for an informal meet-up to continue the evening’s celebrations.
