SUMMARY:More Films For Freedom Information Session
DESCRIPTION:*More Films For Freedom have just opened applications for their 2023 edition of the fund!* \nMore Films for Freedom is a partnership between BFI NETWORK and the British Council that aims to find and fund vital\, creative collaborations that explore LGBTQIA+ global human rights\, intersectionality or diaspora identity. \nWe aim to commission up to three new projects that will have at their heart an element of collaboration between UK-based filmmakers and storytellers from both Africa and the Middle East (SWANA) \nThe successful applicants will be awarded a grant of up to £25\,000 each to cover the costs of all stages of production\, delivery of materials\, and team travel. \nWe can support fiction\, documentary and animated film\, and films that cut across these generic distinctions. All films should have a strong central idea and storyline which will help them reach a wide range of audiences internationally. \nThe deadline for applications is Friday 29th August at 11:59pm (GMT) \nMore information can be found at the links below: https://film.britishcouncil.org/about/work/morefilmsforfreedom \nhttps://www.bfi.org.uk/get-funding-support/bfi-network/bfi-network-funding-finder/bfi-network-more-films-freedom \nAs part of this we’ll be hosting information sessions for filmmakers interesting in applying during which we’ll be demystifying the fund and answering pressing questions about applications as well as an event encouraging collaboration between filmmakers existing in the queer film space as well as filmmakers from the African Continent and the Middle East (SWANA) \nTuesday 25th July at 4:30pm (GMT) –  Diasporic Filmmakers Information Session\nThis session is for filmmakers that live in the UK but are Diasporic\,  who share a national or regional origin from the African continent or the Middle East \nThursday 27th July at 12:00pm (GMT) – Queer Filmmakers Network/ Queer Filmmakers Collective Information Session\nThis session is for Filmmakers already engaged with Queer Filmmakers Network\, Queer Filmmakers Collective\, or are filmmakers that identify as LGBTQIA+ and are interested in this funds \nMonday 31st July at 4:30pm (GMT) – Africa and Middle East Information Session\nThis session is for filmmakers who currently reside in Africa or SWANA (Middle East) regions who are interested in the fund \nFriday 4th August at 4:30pm (GMT) – Films For Freedom Networking Session\nThis session is for all interested parties and is specifically designed to give case studies on methods of collaborative working\, and to encourage collaborative working amongst participants \nThis information will be shared with the British Film Institute and British Film Council \nTo register your interest\, please complete the form here:
