Win Backstage Passes to Canterbury Anifest!

Posted on 29 July 2011

Ever fancied yourself as an Animator? First Light has teamed up with Canterbury Anifest to offer young people the chance to get an insight into the world of animation.

Canterbury Anifest is the South East’s animation festival. Now in its fifth year, the festival will once again be held in Augustine House, Canterbury, Kent. This year the line-up of speakers and events will be bigger and more exciting than ever, and the festival will take place over three days, from Friday 30th September until Sunday 2nd October 2011.

Anifest are giving away a pair of backstage passes* to this year’s festival, where the winner will be given the fantastic opportunity to interview a whole host of industry experts. Any interviews will then be displayed on the First Light website for all to see!

In addition to this fantastic prize, two lucky runners up will be given a pair of festival passes*, so that they can spend the weekend mingling with other festival-goers and gaining valuable tips for their own films!

The competition is open to young people aged 14-25

To enter

Simply answer the question –
‘How many Coraline keys will Anifest be hiding around Canterbury in the build up to their exclusive Coraline talk?’ (It would be cheating to tell you the answer can be found on the Anifest website, so we’re not going to ;))

Log into The Light Lounge via our homepage to download the entry form which you can then send to info@firstlightonline.co.uk. Entries must be received by 15th August at 5pm.

The 2011 Line Up includes:

Coraline – Screening of the recent hit animation with a creative marketing talk and presentation from LAIKA, the studio who created the film.
Creature Comforts – Meet the head of model making and see the models from Aardman Animations’ popular Creature Comforts TV show with a behind-the-scenes talk.
Harry Potter – Find out how the dragons and other computer effects were created for the Harry Potter films.
Phill Jupitus – An evening of Phill screening his favourite animations with laughs thrown in.
British & International Short Films – Award winning short animations from home & abroad.
