To celebrate the launch of First Light in the Classroom (FLIC), First Light offered schools around the UK the opportunity to win a professional filmmaking workshop.
The prize is to include support from a professional film production facilitator to produce a 3 minute film about the school using digital film production equipment, and 30 copies of the film to share with the local community.
To enter, pupils or teachers simply had to answer the question, ‘What is great about my school?’
We received 50 passionate entries, and were very impressed by the enthusiasm and creativity of all of them. Our judging panel has now somehow managed to decide on the winning school:
James Brindley School, a hospital special school in Birmingham – http://www.jamesbrindley.bham.sch.uk/
A big thank you to our fab judges:
*Liz Whatmore, Teacher, Burntisland Primary School in Fife
Julia Skinner, retired Headteacher
Pooky Hesmondhalgh, Director of Creative Education
Paul Stone, Headteacher at Kibworth CofE Primary School in Leicestershire *
