As part of ‘Which of them went before, and which followed after, and which were together?’

Grand Union at THE EVENT 2011 21 – 30 October 2011 Grand Union, Fazeley Street, Birmingham

Birmingham Contemporary Art Forum is delighted to announce it will be hosting The Event’s third bi-annual visual art festival from 21 – 30 October 2011. As part of The Event 2011 Grand Union will be hosting a group exhibition of a curatorial relay, or conversation between exhibition and selection.

Alluding to the theme of The Event, Plato’s Symposium, the exhibition will be formed as a space of multiple voices; different positions coming together and merging indistinctly to link back to a common thread.
To form part of this process Grand Union’s Helen Brown is inviting submissions of flm, video, animation, documentary, features and shorts to be presented as a one-off multi-screen installation at Grand Union on Friday 28 October.

Submissions should be on DVD with title, name and any supporting information included.
Please note that submissions can be of any length, but all presented submissions may be subject to editing.
Please only submit copies not original or unique material, as unfortunately submissions cannot be returned.
