Blue Hippo Media in partnership with Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust are screening their documentary “Lunatic – taking the stigma out of mental health”, followed by an exclusive Q&A with the film’s producers. The 40 minute documentary uses scenes from the film The Insatiable Moon to examine attitudes toward mental illness. In particular, it highlights the stigma associated with ‘madness’.
After the screening of the documentary there will be an opportunity to see Blue Hippo’s international award winning feature film, “The Insatiable Moon”. This gem of a movie which gained 4* out of 5 in Empire Magazine and recently won best foreign film at the Moondance film festival, USA, tackles mental illness and homelessness with heart and compassion. Set in Auckland, New Zealand, the film follows Arthur, a Maori psychiatric patient who claims to be the second son of God, as he tries to prevent the closure of a boarding house for the mentally ill and homeless. ” The performances are superb, and the sensitive subject matter is portrayed with just the right amount of humour” (MAC review).
Tickets for the documentary Lunatic and the accompanying Q&A are £3.50, tickets for The Insatiable Moon are £6.50 full price and £4.50 concession. Screenings begin at 7pm.

Special offer: combined ticket for both events £8
