Posted on 19 July 2011

The Scott Trust, owner of Guardian Media Group plc, is pleased to offer an internship with Guardian Films

The aim of the internship is to offer training in video production to applicants from minority ethnic backgrounds – a group recognised as being under-represented in media (as provided for under Section 37 of the Race Relations Act 1976).

The one year internship offers a bursary of £12,000 together with formal training in shooting and editing documentary, a dedicated mentor and hands-on experience in all aspects of documentary and current affairs production for broadcast, video for the web production and multimedia on-line projects. This is an internship and they cannot guarantee that this will lead to employment.

While no previous formal training is required, applicants will be selected for short-list interviews based on the following criteria:

Possessing the right to work in the UK, ideally you will have had some basic paid or unpaid work experience in video production and need the financial support to progress in your career. You will have a passion for making current affairs and documentary and be able to show commitment to a career in media.
