FILMCLUB celebrates National Storytelling Week

Posted on 11 January 2013

To mark National Storytelling Week, FILMCLUB Live will be championing film’s amazing ability to communicate magical, heart-breaking and inspiring stories. They’ll be speaking LIVE to cinematic storytellers – including the screenwriter of Private Peaceful, the movie based on the novel by author Michael Morpurgo, plus the screenwriter responsible for great stories such as The Last King of Scotland, Driving Lessons and The Eagle and filmmakers involved with the BAFTA nominated ParaNorman.

You’ll hear all about the challenges and triumphs of telling tales with film and get the chance to have your questions answered live on air. They will also celebrate the work of legendary storyteller David Lean and talk to BFI children’s programmer about why classic kids films make such good stories.

What is FILMCLUB Live?

For one week at the end of each month, they broadcast live from a studio. These interactive shows – tailored for both primary and secondary audiences – provide members with an opportunity to pose questions to film industry professionals and stars. The sessions include film clips, expert advice, competitions and much more.
