Film4 Scene Stealers

Recreate a scene from a film in an original manner, and you could win £5000 and access to a professional mentor!

What is the competition?

As Film4 turns thirty this November, they are looking to the future and the next generation of talent. They’re hoping to find the wittiest and most outstanding re-imaginings of Film4 Productions’ most memorable scenes, to last no longer than two minutes. The cover versions we all remember are those that put an innovative spin on an old favourite, that show us your unique ability, and that’s exactly what they’re looking for here, in movie-making form.

Take an iconic Film4 moment from the list of selected films and put your own individual stamp on it. The judges will be looking for entries that do this in the most original and creative way encapsulating the Film4 ethos and celebrating some of its finest moments with a fresh, inventive approach. Make your own version of that scene with as much flair, invention and creativity as you can. You can use snippets of dialogue from the scene, but again, reimagining the moment to stand out from the crowd is what they’re after.

The Prizes

There will be two winners; one will be selected from all the entries and one selected from all of the UK entries. The global winner and the UK winner will both get their scene showcased on-air during Film4’s 30th anniversary season on the Film4 channel. The UK winner will also get a development deal with Film4 which includes mentoring from Film4.0’s Anna Higgs and £5000 to develop an original micro budget short film.
