FILM FESTIVAL - CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
University of Manchester and Fuse TV present the first annual Manchester Film Festival 2012 taking place on the 13th – 15th of April!
The inaugural Manchester Film Festival is aimed at showcasing the best in student and independent film-making from around the UK, with cash and other prizes focused on supporting future film-making endeavours.
Throughout the festival there will be a variety of superb workshops and events taking place, in addition to the screenings to help students gain the skills and confidence needed to break into the media world.
Festival Highlights include:
Screenings of the BAFTA 2012 winners & nominated Short Films and Short Animations.
BBC Writersroom Seminar on how to break in as a writer.
“The Future of Media” – An industry panel led by Alex Connock, Chairman of the Royal Television Society North West, on what the future holds for the media industry.
We are looking for submissions of student and professional short films of up to 30 minutes duration for the following categories:
Student Short Films – We’re looking to showcase the best student short films from across the UK. The only limits on the entries is that they must be made by current students and be no longer than 30 minutes in length.
Student Short Documentary Category – We want a collection of student documentaries that push the narrative boundaries. There are no restrictions in terms of content, only that they are made by current students.
Manchester Shorts – Short films set or shot in Manchester, that reflect the city’s vibrancy and diversity.
UK Shorts – We’re looking for the best short films from around the UK.
Final deadline for submission is Friday 16th of March. All entries must be submitted to:
