Bringing together the UK’s best trainees and film productions

“This unique scheme will give the best talent across the UK a way into the film industry and give film productions access to high calibre trainees” Alison Small, Academy Director

The Film Craft and Technical Trainee Placement Scheme gives new entrants the chance to develop skills and cultivate strong networks within the industry, by placing participants on UK film productions that have paid the Skills Investment Fund (SIF) and subsidising the participant’s wage.

Trainee Placements are offered in the following departments: Animation, Art, Camera, Costume & Wardrobe, Editing, Hair & Make-up, Lighting, Set Crafts, Script Supervisor, Sound.

The scheme provides an effective bridge between training and industry for new entrants, as well as helping productions filming in the UK access some of the best trainees available in the UK.
