Si Spencer has been writing professionally for over twenty five years, including long stints on Eastenders, Grange Hill and The Bill as well as comic books Judge Dredd, Tank Girl and his own critically acclaimed graphic novel series Books of Magick, The Vinyl Underground and Hellblazer: City of Demons and the soon to be released Bodies (as illustration).

He has also been script editor or part of the initial development team on numerous BBC series including City Central and Torchwood. As either writer or editor, Si has collaborated with, among others, Neil Gaiman, Russell T Davies, Jamie Hewlett and Tony Garnett. His book Script Doctor’s 100 Writing Tips for TV and Film was published in 2010 and the Script Doctor Facebook page has over 2000 members. In the last four years he has worked with hundreds of new writers, guiding many to professional careers in the industry.

Si will be looking at the ten very basic dos and don’ts of scriptwriting from a fresh and practical perspective, stripping away the theories and applying his decades of experience. He will talk about the relationship between screenwriting and graphic novel storytelling, there will also be the opportunity for Q and A.
