We’re on the lookout for new film-makers…the deadline for submissions is 16th December 2016 so you’ll need to get your skates on!
All the finalists will have their films screened at the festival as part of a ‘celebration of young talent’ event and a panel of film industry professionals will select the winner, who will receive £500 in prize money.
Borderlines Film Festival, the UK’s largest rural film festival based in Herefordshire and Shropshire, will be celebrating its 15th anniversary in 2017 and Rural Media, a Herefordshire based production company and charity producing award-winning films and digital arts projects, have joined together to celebrate and give a new platform for first time and emerging film-makers.
We love film in all its glorious forms, from animation to drama, gritty documentaries to experimental hybrid work. The films should be no longer than 15 minutes (including credits) and although the film-maker must be UK based, as long as English subtitles are used, the films can be in any language. We are after current material so your film needs to have been made between August 2015 and the submission date.
To enter, please go to ruralmedia.co.uk/charity/best-short-film-award There is a submission fee of £25.00 which can be paid via Paypal, cheque or bank transfer. Please note any submissions received without the £25 fee will not be considered. For initial submission, films should be sent either via a password protected link, a file transfer service such as WeTransfer or via a hard drive to the Rural Media offices.
The deadline for submissions is 6pm on Friday 16th December 2016. Borderlines Film Festival takes place from 24 Feb – 12 March 2017 and we’ll let you know whether you have been successful or not before the Festival programme goes live.
