Calling all East and West Midlands photographers and filmmakers!

Posted on 1 November 2011

We are looking for emerging photographers and filmmakers who are based in the East or West Midlands, or who have recently graduated (in the last 2 years) from a Midlands University.

We are inviting you to submit existing photographic works and short films that broadly relate to the theme of heroes. This could be as straightforward as depicting the super heroics of costumed heroes or documenting simple or unnoticed acts of heroism that occur every day. Alternatively you could explore the darker facets of this theme, focusing on the sinister acts of an anti hero or villain.

East Meets West is keen to offer opportunities to artists within the regions and to support local talent. If selected, you will be invited to exhibit your work, both wall based and on digital screens, at QUAD, Derby and Light House, Wolverhampton and take part in a peer to peer critiques and portfolio review sessions with film and photography industry experts. Film works will also have the opportunity to be screened before a feature film at QUAD.
