Aesthetica is looking for filmmakers who are driving the genre of short film forward through inspirational and innovative works. Whether you are fresh out of film school or have been making films for years, they want to hear from you.
They are accepting films in all genres: drama, documentary, music video, comedy, thriller, experimental and artists’ film.
ASFF 2013 allows for both budding and established filmmakers to connect with new, worldwide audiences and interact with some of the biggest personalities in the film industry today. Over 200 films will be screened at this unique event, in 15 iconic locations across the historic city of York from 7-10 November 2013. It’s a fantastic opportunity for filmmakers to showcase their work in an impressive setting to an international audience. High profile ASFF attendees in 2012 included representatives from Warp, BAFTA, Channel 4 and Raindance. ASFF 2012 also included a special screening and artist talk from established artists Ed Atkins and Patrick Ward on their film Defining Holes. Ed Atkins, winner of the Jerwood/Film and Video Umbrella Award 2012, has exhibited at MOMA and Chisenhale London, and Slade School of Fine Art graduate Patrick Ward, who has exhibited worldwide, offered insights into video art and explored the boundaries between contemporary practice and traditional filmmaking.
Enter this year for your chance to be screened at the Aesthetica Short Film Festival 2013. The finalists will be screened across the City of York as part of ASFF in November. This award offers the winner and runners-up a fantastic prize package, which will bring your films to a wider audience.
