16-25 and passionate about producing? Then apply for the Second Light Producers Lab!

Working in partnership with The Producers Forum, First Light is offering free places on a new Second Light training Lab that will concentrate on film producing.

Do you have some knowledge or experience of working in the film industry? Would you like to have the opportunity to learn from award winning filmmakers just what it takes to produce a film, work in the industry and get your work out there? If so this is a great opportunity for you.

The Producers Forum and First Light are looking to nurture enthusiastic, committed young people with a passion for storytelling.

The Lab will ensure that participants learn how to turn their film ideas to pitches, get a comprehensive introduction to pre-production and production, as well as gain information, advice and careers guidance for those important next steps following the Lab. The Lab will also contain a 2 day master class in distribution and marketing with critically acclaimed filmmaker and author Jon Riess. This course is recommended not only for filmmakers who have finished films, but especially those who are in the early stages of a film project or who want to have a clear understanding of the radically changing landscape for distributing and marketing films.

Second Light Producers Lab will recruit trainees who can demonstrate a strong interest in filmmaking. We will look for participants with ideas that they are passionate about, and who are from backgrounds currently under represented in the filmmaking sector.

When and where?

The 4-day lab will take place in Nottingham, from the 18-21 June 2012.

This course is free of charge to successful applicants however we do ask for a deposit of £40 which will be refunded following the lab.

Travel bursaries are be available for those outside of Nottingham.
